I had a Vasectomy 19 years ago. The procedure was a very simple one.
I went to the MD who sat me down and discussed the pros and cons of the procedure and then sent me on my way to decide if I wanted to go forward with it.
He would not permit me to have the procedure for a minimum of two weeks. After giving it a tremendous amount of thought I called for my appointment.
The MD called me the night before and instructed me to shave my scrotum, penis, and the hair at the top of my legs. In addition he wanted me to bring in a sperm sample and a urine sample the day of the procedure.
Upon my arrival he once again went over the pros and cons and then had me sign the consent form. Once in the room he had me remove my clothing and started an IV. He told me that if I was nervous he would give me a sedative but I told him I would like to go without.
After injecting my scrotum he pulled the tube leading to my testicle out of this small incision and cut into that.
After cutting the vas deference he cauterized both ends and placed the tube back into my scrotum. He preformed the same procedure on the other side.
Other than feeling the injection of the local anesthetic and the slight manipulation of my testicles there was little discomfort. I used plenty of ice for the next two days and was back on the soccer fields within a week.
I do notice that my testicle have gotten larger and that my scrotum has gotten longer. By no means has that caused me a problem as it still is proportionate to my penis size (8 1/4 inches). In summary I am very glad to have had the procedure and would do it again tomorrow.
Post Vasectomy After Vasectomy Testimonial!
Hi Jake,
While I don't agree with your decision to opt for Vasectomy Surgery, I do appreciate the fact that you took the time to share your story here.
I guess for you, the trade off was worth it.
You get free for all sex, without having to worry about the withdraw method, condoms, the pill, or unwanted pregnancies.
Understandable, to a certain extent!
But for me, the trade off would not be worth it.
And it's not just about the potential for negative side effects.
I simply don't like the idea of being sterile!
I don't know why, but the thought of it rubs me the wrong way.
The withdrawal method has worked perfectly for me for more than 20 years.
I've discovered that the ability to control Ejaculations is a skill that can be learned and perfected.
Along with this skill comes a certain power, a sense of control.
But I regress now.
I'm going to have to save that post for another day.
Anyway...
Thanks again for your feedback!
Mark
