Arginine - Nitric Oxide & Premature Death!

Arginine Nitric Oxide & Premature Death!Hi, I've been a reader of your site since late last year. Your info has changed my life for the better, thanks.
I just read your blog "The Dangers of Chronic Supplementation!"
I was under the same understanding as the writer that amino acids are good to supplement every day.
I have been taking 3 grams arginine and pine bark before breakfast for most of the year.
I started rotating
Nitric Oxide products before my workouts 4-5 times a week and these are arginine based as well.
I really like the NO before my workouts but it sounds like I need to back off for a while.
Any advice on this? Should I go with out for a month or so and then take it 4 times a week?
Also I have tried the majority of your
recommended supplements. The last one I tried a few weeks ago was the
ZMA.I was shocked at how well it works for me.
It doesn't have much in it, but must it be a good blend that works well together.
Thanks again for your website.
Arginine - Nitric Oxide & Premature Death!
Hi Frank,
Thanks for the props on my website, much appreciated!
I wouldn't stress too much about the Arginine....
The studies I referenced in the previous blog post used very high dosages, taken several times throughout the day.
Plus, there have been other less aggressive studies that showed no negative side effects.
If you don't have a heart condition, liver or kidney disease or asthma, you probably don't have too much to worry about.
That being said...If I were you I'd mix things up a little bit just to play it safe.
The easiest way to do that is to take 2 or 3 days off a week.
You can also substitute...Cocoa contains a flavanol called epicatechin which reduces lipid peroxidation, inhibits platelet aggregation and works as a powerful nitric oxide booster.
And it only takes about 5 grams for the NO release to kick in.
Resveratrol, Ginseng,
Citrulline, and
Chrysin boost NO as well.
If you really want a big nitric oxide hit, try combining
Damiana with chrysin.
These two supplements together pack a powerful NO punch based on my personal experience.
Here's the bottom line...I'm conservative when it comes to supplements, so I'd rather play it safe than sorry.
In my book,
cycling several different supplements is much safer than chronic supplementation, day in and day out, with any one single product.
So go ahead and use your Arginine, but give it a break once in a while.
Combine it with other nitric oxide supplements and intense exercise, which gives the nod to your endothelium to produce more NO.
And don't hide from the sun!
Remember...Vitamin D from sunlight is involved in the development of nitric oxide synthase, and glutathione as well.
Thanks for your question!
